This Love is Cosmic Performed by: Vandi Lynnae
Vandi Lynnae burst onto the pop scene in the summer of 2020 with her single “Ramblin’ Man”, a collaboration with guitarist and producer Philip Logan. Since then, she has proven her vocal ability to easily navigate different genres and styles with her singles “Don’t Ever Let Me Go” and “This Love is Cosmic”.
As a singer-songwriter, Vandi writes her own songs. She enjoys locking onto an idea-a spark of the imagination-an intense feeling that flares up for a brief moment-and then exploring it through poetry and music.
This former opera singer has had an exciting and intriguing career navigating through classical pursuits, musical theatre, and jazz and big band. Some of her most recent performance credits include Yuletide Celebration with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Kiss Me Kate and Trouble in Tahiti with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Camelot and South Pacific with Indianapolis Opera, and A Christmas Carol at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. Some of Vandi’s favorite performances have been Le Fee in Massenet’s Cendrillon, Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel, Bastienna in Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienna, Madame Goldentrill in Mozart’s Impressario, singing an unpublished Handel Gloria at the Vianden International Music Festival in Luxembourg, and Gaby in Romberg’s The Blue Paradise.
Venturing into the classical realm of music broken the mold of her family. Growing up with a mother who was a guitarist and dancer, a grandmother who was a professional artist and clown, and an aunt and uncle who worked as songwriters, Vandi’s environment nurtured her passion for singing, music, and the creative arts. Though Vandi was often shy as a little girl, her love for singing was strong enough to break her out of her shell and perform.
Though she began experimenting with playing the piano at 2 or 3, Vandi’s formal training in music began at 5 years old when she started piano lessons. She continued to play, even going into her undergraduate studies and a voice and piano performance double major. Her piano skills enable Vandi to write not only songs for her independent artist releases but also for musicals that she writes, some of which have been performed in the Indianapolis area.
Vandi’s insatiable curiosity and explorative nature have led her to many opportunities including modeling, film acting, dance, stage combat, choreography, directing, and script writing. She is currently learning about music production and hopes to become a producer in the future.
